am is an edible tuber with a rough skin that is difficult to peel but readily softened by heating. Yam are an excellent sources of fiber. It has a long shape as well as round.

It has a very high content of starch and carbohydrates and can be used for delicacies like pounded yam, yam flour, yam porridge, fried yam and boiled yam with vegetable and meat sauce.
